Good Friday

Not much courtesy on the road. Many, many places to stop along the road and eat. We pulled off at one but ate in the car as it was raining. Were entertained by everyone trooping off into woods – some not very far in. We still do our stopping at gas stations even though almost every place here you have to pay to go — except in the woods.
We had dinner just this side of Russian checkpoint (about 120 miles from Berlin). It was not too good. Most of us had omelets but Sue ordered mushrooms on toast. I missed the translation of one word and she found out that it was also sitting on a piece of veal — on Good Friday too!! By the time Jimmy filled out all papers we were at the checkpoint about 50 minutes. They looked in car with flashlights but we didn’t have to get out and they didn’t disturb baggage.
