Friday, April 10; Tim back in school. Kevin pulled muscle had to be brought home. Holly broken out in a rash and hands— feet — knees swelling — miserable.

Saturday, April 11; Tim — Jamie and Pat started catechism at base. Jimmy and I drove around the outlying towns. Took Holly to Doctor. She can’t even get her shoes on. She has an allergy. Afterwards we went to the carnival in center of town around the lake. It is so pretty and clean. Delicious wieners and rolls. Third day of sunshine — a little rain mixed in, too. Saturday night we went back and the lights were beautiful.

Sunday, April 12; Pat sick to stomach and in bed all day. Oh me, who is next. 9:45 AM mass at the base, then breakfast at the officers’ club! Kevin and Pat stayed home and rest to Hohenzollern castle. A real fairy tale castle and so much fun to see. Can be seen for miles as it sits atop a high mountain. Next time we will not pull into the first parking lot — wow what a claim that was! On way down it was much shorter. Met many G.I.s while we were at the eating stand. Fun to find someone to talk to. Pat and Kevin went with us to officers’ club for buffet dinner. Very good. 9:00 PM very tired. Sue and Jack went to show at base.
