Address 6 Schoenberger Weg, Sindlefingen. Children played in the snow the first two days in apartment. Then rain came and washed it all away. They had bought three new sleds ($2.50 apiece).

 First Sunday — Palm Sunday Mass (March 22) in Boeblingen. Women came with pussy willows or cedar boughs. Congregation sings mass and answers responses. Beautiful singing in the little church. Children and priest increase had processions before mass. Priest looked about 15 years — had beautiful voice. Alter faces congregation. Lovely service. I felt like an extra in a movie.

 Shopping presents a real problem. Packing is all small and none of the giant sizes we are used to accept washing detergent. I’m learning now to go to Metzgerie (Butcher Shop) for meat and get a little better variety. They do not have all of the cuts we do. Meat just hang by piece and you indicate how much. About the only thing I recognize is pork chops.

  Took Holly to doctor Thursday night (March 26) — kidney infection — 8000 miles from home and on sulfa.

 Only about three or four types breakfast cereal. Can of Ovaltine is almost $4.00. Almost everything is higher – I don’t think meat is though. Boys haircuts today were only 2 Marks or $.50. Jimmy’s was 2.20 Marks $.55. A Wash and set are only $1.25. Susan had her hair frosted today for $4.00 (set — wash and trim included).

 Sergio and Sandro came for dinner last Thursday night. They arrived at noon bearing long stemmed roses for me — beautiful Easter eggs for Sue and Cynthia and lots of Easter candy for the little ones. We had so much fun with them. Jack also came for dinner. Sergio and Sandro left for hotels in northern Germany Sunday. We got a card from Sergio yesterday. He is in Hanover.
